Every year for the past 13 years, REAL Services has honored people who give selflessly of their time and talents to support older adults and the disabled at the "Age of Excellence Luncheon". This year the event also will launch the first REAL Room Makeover Raffle.
Vern Yip, designer and host of TV design programs, will be the keynote speaker for REAL Services' “Age of Excellence Luncheon” at 11 a.m. May 20 at Century Center.
Yip has knocked down walls and made over countless homes and restaurants across the United States during his four seasons on TLC's “Trading Spaces,” on NBC's “Home Intervention” and through his private practice. Yip's most recent projects include his own show on HGTV, “Deserving Design with Vern Yip,” and the upcoming fourth season of the prime-time HGTV series “Design Star.”
Two thousand tickets at $50 each will be sold for the raffle, beginning May 20. The grand prize will be a $25,000 room makeover created by Peacock and Co. Twenty-five prizes in all will be awarded. Winners will be drawn on August 25, 2010.
The luncheon costs $20, and reservations may be made by calling (574) 284-7108 or (800) 552-7928, ext. 7108. Reservations may also be made online. The deadline for reservations is 4 p.m. May 14.
Tickets for the raffle may be bought at the luncheon or at REAL Services after the event.
Approximately 8,500 invitations will be sent in the mail, so it is recommended to respond quickly. Once 2,000 tickets are purchased, the offer ends.
The makeover raffle will help fund programs of REAL Services such as the Guardianship Program and the Foster Grandparent Program. It also will support older and disabled adults remaining in their homes.

The option of the Grand Prize $25,000 room makeover choice is valid only in the Indiana Counties of St. Joseph, Elkhart, LaPorte, Kosciusko and Marshall. Grand Prize $15,000 cash option and all other prizes are not restricted.
